A DRAWING IS SIMPLY A LINE GOING ON A WALK.

I love doing fun design challenges!
Showcased above are from 36 Days of Type. This is a challenge that lets you showcase lettering and illustration for 36 days straight. I challenged myself two years in a row to complete all 26 letters of the alphabet and numbers 0-9.
The first set I did was based on endangered/extinct animals, so each letter was an endangered animal that started with the corresponding letter of the day and each number was an extinct animal. The color scheme that I selected was more muted to go with the tone of the illustrations.
The second set I did, I wanted to focus more on figure drawing, so I made the letters and numbers out of girls and objects. These illustrations were more fun so I used brighter colors to bring out the whimsy.
Below are some of my favorite illustrations from other challenges and also some illustrations of all of the books I’ve read in the past few years.
